Mountain cross?
« on: February 15, 2009, 07:24:35 PM »
does this look as fun to everyone else as it does me? Kind of a cross between BMX and DH.. High speeds, sweeping high banked corners, and low altitude long carry jumps, that maintain speed? count me in. :D

that said, what are the odds that Florida could eventually have one of these tracks to play on? From what I seen, a very tall mountain isn't required, something in the order of what they have in San Antonio/Dade City..

anyone game, besides me?

All it takes is a group of willing people to want it bad enough to make it happen.

OMBA has plans to make a dual slalom course out at Santos sometime in the future.  This is probably our best bet for anything mountain-cross like.

Why don't some of you guys work with the group that has the BMX track off of Balm-Boyette Rd.?  It's close by and as I understood it there was supposed to be some of these MTB options in the works.  Good chance to get it started right here close by.

hells yes, I have looked at those for my entire life wishing I could bomb those on a bike, although, they are much higher and steeper than they look from road sides, and I'd likely smear myself down the side of it, but chicks dig scars. :D I've never tried to get something like this started, but I hope either I figure it out, or someone else does, because a Mountain Cross course would kick some major butt.
