I think 10 bucks in my opinion sounds good for the entry. 20 is kind of steep.

20$ for non-members (unless you are sexy - exceptions granted)
10$ for SWAMP members
5$ for those who do trail work
1$ for KRUNNCH

I think $10 would be ideal...just remember 100% of what goes in, is what is paid to the winner.

I think he's refering to the hump on the left as you ride from Franks to the Rock Garden fingers.

Those were about what I was thinking for the competition.  I'd like about 10 options which would be posted in advance, of which, I'd choose 5 the day of the competition and have about 5 left over in case we need a sudden death playoff.

I'd do it on either saturday or sunday - whichever works best for the people that want to do it.  The pot would be entirely determined by the number of people who want to do it as 100% will be paid out to the winner, but I'd love it to be at least $100.

With only five options (assuming they'll be the most difficult/dangerous) don't we exclude quite a few folks even entering? I know we can't do all the ones I've listed cause it might turn into a two day event.
But maybe the "King of Alafia" needs to be the dude who wins cause he has the biggest balls and skills?
Regardless, I'm looking forward to getting a new stem and bar with the prize money  ;)

I think we should have more than 5 events. I also think the purpose of the events is to be challenging. If a person cannot do an event because it is too 'dangerous' which is almost an oxymoron for Alafia in itself, then they cannot be crowned a King or Queen of Alafia.

Is it jump or climb? I ride out there all the time and still can't picture what you're talking about. Before the rock garden hard option to the right but after completing Franks loop? Or is he talking about the hump you can almost table top after riding Shelly's loop and just before crossing the two track into Franks loop?

I agree, but if a dude is awesome and yet he doesn't want to do the no dab drop or Doom high line I think he should still be able to get a lot of points and thus be crowned "Prince of Alafia" at least.

It's a rooty climb onto a flat on the left that Eric, Krunnch, or BillT could huck off of with their big hit bikes.  I just ride down the other side of it.  Most people overlook it I think on their way to the 2 options.

"Prince of Alafia" is just another way of saying girly man. They can most certainly attempt it and get 1 point. Or just not do it and get 0 points. I will suck at most of the climbs, but at least I might have a fighting chance with some of the more interesting downhills.

This undertaking will be a perfect spectator event. I will be there with my camera and might try some of the sections.
Instead of monetary fee why not a rider's fav six pack and everybody enjoys the drink.

The winner will have bragging rights which is the whole point ;)  and will wear a shirt that says "Bow Down to the King of Alafia".
