the rains really packed most of the parts what i guess were sandy parts. we only got in 22mi and it was our 1st time there. on the other side of the yellow trails we ran into very sandy spots that you really had to pump to get thru. the Blues & Red/Greens were in very nice shape. they were all extremely covered in Leaves.

Did you get to the pits area? Some good riding out that way in the far NE corner of the trail system.

Be carefull, we ran into a booby trap made of a tree. i cleared it but i know they'll probably be back up. it was a bent skinny tree across the trail with a large log leaning on it holding it about 12in in the air.

Tar pits ;D The area is refered to as the pits, there is some nice elevation changes in the area along with some great single trak like Drunken Monkey :)

So what is your opinion of Croom? Is it fun enough to be a regular ride with the guys or just a good place to take the wife for XC?

Dude, we went there this past saturday with plans of doing the 33mi loop, the sand kicked our asses. we were able to get in about 23mi total and were spent, an i really felt it the next day after a 24mi boyette ride.....

Cool video - thanks.  Drunkey Monkey is a fun trail.  Looks like there is a modification to the trail since I was there at around 1:40 in the video -- seems to be a re-route to the right which avoids the tricky part I mentioned a couple months ago.
Might have to get out there tomorrow and do a ride.  :)
