OK, 1st ride on the 29er thoughts and reviews.....
« on: May 14, 2009, 08:16:33 PM »
OK,

so I finally got to take the new 29er out on the trails. I am still getting over a bad chest cold and breathing was labored, but all in all it was OK. I would say I do miss the full squish a little, but I am sure I will get over it. The bigger tires are a little harder to get moving than the 26", but I am sure I will get used to that as well. The over all fit of the bike and wheels felt great. I am not too hunched over or unbalanced in any way. I like the lefty fork but I need to tweak the air and rebound to get it just right. I have to admit it does handle better on the roots than a 26" hardtail, but not enough that I cant tell a difference from the full suspension.

Overall I like the bike and I think it will make me a stronger rider in the long run...

sorry, the one in my profile. 07' Cannondale Caffeine 29er with lefty fork. The bike is lite, and rides well, just will have to get used to the bigger push needed on the pedals to get those big tires rolling.
