So I'm building a Redline D660 and have all the parts but the handle bars and stem which means I have to wait til I put brakes and shift cables on.......well I found myself riding my partially put together bike around my kitchen and living room without stem or handlebars steering my way around by the headtube!!
I started thinking to myself (your an idiot!)

Nothing wrong with that.  However, if you start fondling it or finding an excuse to be naked around it, then you might have problems.  :o
