Carbon Fiber Goodies
« on: May 30, 2009, 04:11:20 PM »
I received my warranty replacement frame from Ibis yesterday.  Unpacked it to inspect for damage and everything looks good.

Since I only suffer from a small case of weight weenieness, I decided to weight it.  Was curious to see an actual weight, not what's posted on Ibis' website.

Hope to start swapping the parts over in the next few days.   ;D

Very pretty and some really nice weights.  Throw the shock and the links on and get a reading the full frame.

I actually think a Lefty would look really good on my Mojo.

One of these would look nicer - http://www.dtswiss.com/Products/Suspension/DT-Swiss-Forks-(1)/EXC-Forks.aspx - it would go with your rear shock nicely.

Crap, almost forgot to post this as well.

I think there's a rule that states that if you get a new frame, you need to get some new bling to go with it.

Not the best picture (a little blurry) but you get the idea.  ;D

Probably right around 4.5 - needs to add his rear shock, 2 aluminum links and assorted hardware, but needs to weigh it without the rear plastic dropout spacer.

He's got a real pretty DT-Swiss rear shock with a carbon fiber canister.

4.96 lbs is posted on the Ibis website.  I'll find out when I put it together, without the plastic spacer.

That weight is before they came out with the Lopes Link.  It's supposed to only add 18 grams.
