Chain Love - My first purchase
« on: June 18, 2009, 11:57:15 AM »
I just started watching chainlove the other day and made my first purchase today. I got a bad ass white Giro helmet with pink flames! Unfortunatley my wife has already claimed it  :'(
Who else watches cainlove and what goodies have they brought you?

It seems to me that a majority of it is DH stuff.

I've made a couple of purchases on CL - some goggles for my fullface helmet and a
Dakine hydration pack for super cheap.  I've also come close to ordering a blowout Intense frame, but the timing was never right.

Back in the winter I  got me a Castelli short-sleeve base layer from Chainlove.  It is a fine under-shirt and just right for most winter temps here...It was a good price too!

Hey all, I watch it quite a bit but have yet to order. I've read a couple of forums where people said they were charged extra once the bill arrived. Anyone experience this?

I got a confirmation e-mail with my receipt. The total amount due was shown in the e-mail so I don't see how they can try charging me more.

Yes, Bonktown is the roadie veryson of Chainlove.

I haven't heard anything wrong with ordering from these sites.  They are all part of Backcountry.com which is a huge retailer of all types of outdoor goods and have great customer service from what I've heard and seen (they ran out of the goggles I ordered due to a system glitch and they upgraded them for me and sent them overnight after I called wondering where they were).

Right on!! Thanks tread, i had read several complaints of people being charged more in processing than they were quoted, but I'm glad to hear you have enjoyed your experiences.

My only real issue with Chainlove is that their shipping is expensive - it makes it a little harder to justify smaller purchases.

Yeah, It was something like $8 to ship that helmet via standard ground, but it was sill a lot cheaper than buying it at the LBS.
