I ride XT's but like a say every morning when I go to the bathroom right before a ride.. you know, when the coffee is really kickin in...

"Be right back guys, Going to put on my XTR Cranks"

XTR =  770g
XT   =  853g

I think I most definately squeeze out at least an 83g Shizznit in the AM...

It could have swirled on the way down...does that count as rotation?

You should blame the fact that professional triathletes were in the beginners class for you not winning, seriously. There were a Banned wordload of sandbaggers in those classes.

Definitely lots of sandbagging going on.

If you live in Australia, and it swirls in the opposite direction, is the rotational weight the same?

Landed on a rock just right after catching a little air somewhere on Moonscape. XTR cranks have hollow arms >:(

If you land on the wheels instead of the crankarms things like that don't happen. ;) ;D

Yeah that thing is way too heavy, how the hell do you manage with XT cranks  :)
Yep, way too heavy.   ;)

So what is the acutal weight difference between XT and XTR?

Probably 20 grams.

I would make a generalization about color coders and those who say "[...] my whole drive train is XTR." However, I will save that generalization for an MTBR thread... Not to mention I am too busy collecting urine samples.

Um krunnch, my whole bike is XTR. If you're gonna quote me get the damn quote right. Don't hate us cause we have bling and don't know what to do with it.

Landed on wheels with driveside crank arm pointed straight down. I think it was just one of those perfect hits that I couldn't redo if I wanted to.

Might as well break the other one, just to say you did.  ;)

I find it funny when I see people with super light bikes and carbon cranks and then wearing heavy shoes

Bunch of weight wienies! ;)

I have a very light frame but only because of a warranty replacement. The components are ones that either came with the original bike (now 3 years old) or are ones that I can afford, heavy or not. For the price, I'll stick with XT, X.9, or similar. I'm not good enough to worry about shaving grams.

Like Proedge said, just take a massive dump before you go riding and that will save the grams. I bet one of my larger turds probably weighs in far beyond 450 grams.
