Should I go disc??
« on: July 10, 2009, 11:13:52 PM »
Alright, I have disc wheels already.  I currently have Avid Single Digit Ultimate Brake for the ft and rear.  Should I sell off these and buy some discs?  I've been looking at getting mechanical if i do the switch.

Depends on where you ride. Flatwoods and Croom are rim brake friendly and of course you can get away with them at the other places but who wants to do that. Get Avid BB7 if you aren't feeling the hydraulics.

If you have the wheels do it. BB7s are nice strong brakes.

Speaking of brakes and pains in the ass...did you get your front caliper issue straightened out?

TripleT, took everything apart, cleaned it,had trouble pushing the piston back in but it finally pushed back. Haven't had a problem sense but also haven't had it on the trails yet. Just driveway test.
