Online tube deals?
« on: July 17, 2009, 09:13:31 PM »
Has anyone found any good online deals for tubes?  I've blown through two tubes in the past month or so and I'm tired of paying $9-12 per tube (depending on which LBS I can actually find a 29er tube).

Please no "you need to go tubeless" comments.  ;)

plus when the tire rolls off the wheel you have all that sticky goop all over your hands and you need to put a tube on anyway because it wont reseal...  yep, had that happen once. lost interest in tubeless after that ;)

You don't "need" to go tubeless, but you should.  ;)

UST, not that ghetto stuff that gets sticky goop all over your hands.

I don't understand the whole goopy, tire off the rim comments - I never have any issue like that with stans - it is by far the best system I have ever used - I probably just jinxed myself - if you install it wrong or don't use the right rim/tire combos it wont work right - if you use stans rims, you don't even need the rubber rim strip - just yellow tape - people use stans the wrong way and then get down on it

I just put goop in my tires - no kit needed - just yellow tape on the rim

That link that you put up outlines to buy the $150 kit.  That's why I questioned - huh?

whiped out on the little hill before Gator Bait/ Misery at Morris bridge and the front tire came off due to the way I fell down. Used Stans with UST tires and rims and it was a sticky mess. Ended up putting a tube on since it would not re-seal.. Just my experiance and did not think it was worth all the fuss and mess.
