I dont like MBAction - too much advertising and all product reviews. I like Bike Mag - more laid back and into the riding it seems and not so much the product. I wasnt too suprised to see it was under the same publisher as Surfer Mag, one of my other faves
wherever you go.....there you are.

I enjoy reading them all for different reasons, but overall Bike is my favorite.  Some of the British bike mags are pretty entertaining.

I think MB action is a little too propaganish(is that a word?) It seems to me that the bikes that get the most review time are the ones that advertise the most.

I get Bike and mtb action in the mail and I prefer Bike due to reasons already stated. I've also have flipped through some UK mags at the airport a few times and enjoyed them quite a bit..... but I enjoy the free mag in the back of the airplane seat so don't run out and subscribe to all the UK mags due to my input.

I agree.

MBA also feels very stale if you try to read it on a monthly basis. Sometimes it feels as if they run similar articles on a regular basis and all their bike reviews are in the same boring format every single time.

BIKE is a good mag but i do have to say within the last 3-4 years their focus has changen to more of the All Mountain and DH aspect of MTBing.

Which mag focuses more on XC?

Bike mag's photo's tend to focus more on the Freeride stuff mostly because it what is more interesting to look at and it is what most of the better mtb photographers (i.e. Sterling Lawrence) tend to shoot.  The ride/vibe articles tend to be more xc/adventure/exploring'ish in nature.  The equipment reviews a pretty spread, but each issue they have a theme like 'USA Made Custom' or 'New All mountain bikes' which narrows what they are talking about some for that issue.
