700c tire for commuting
« on: August 21, 2009, 04:08:34 PM »
Does anyone know of a good 700c tire that would fit on my Superfly 29er and would be good for commuting?

there are some good continental ones that have kevlar belts (puncture resistant) and a nice reflector all the way around for when it gets dark

I had that for commuting and never had issues - I will look later at the model number

Smallblock eights are very good on the road we have two 29er commuter bikes my wife rides one to work everyday and likes it a lot better than her 700c commuter(both single speeds)

What did she like more about the small block eights? Do they wear faster than the ones made for the road?

No the overall ride with no suspension has better cushion,She can take the bike off the road if need be with better traction and they grip a lot better when wet and glass and other puncture type items do not get into the tire like the 700c`s the wear factor is longer beacause of the thicker tread she put almost 4000 miles on her last set
