How bought a "Roadie/Tri" section?
« on: August 24, 2009, 08:24:14 PM »
OK, since my post got flushed with the thread that got out of hand, I'll try my own.  I think there is enough interest and need for the Roadie and Tri material to have their own section.  I get that most of these guys are MTBer's who ride road  to train and for fun and some do the triathlon thing.  All of that is great, but I would appreciate not having to sift through those threads that are not obviously roadie/tri content.  I am not interested in having this turn into an us/them thing or flame war, just think ALL would benefit.  Any thoughts?

Where would cyclocross fit?

My bike like both pavement and dirt. It's a confused creature.

Do the local roadie groups have their own forum?

I agree, how about a new tab under Health and Fitness. Maybe it could answer some of those need to know questions like:
Nair or shaver?
what to do with those greasy fingers after lubeing up the boyz?
Does this spandex make my butt look HUGE? :o

Sounds good.  All the ribbing aside, there is definitely a need for it.

I think adding another section is rediculous...do we really need to have 20 more sections?

if you are not interested in a thread...don't read it

I'm sorry that you feel my simple suggestion to add a single new section is "ridiculous".  And separating the roadie/tri stuff from the MTBing stuff IS MTBing content.  My suggestion only came off the heals of YOUR thread that ultimately brought up the subject.  If this upsets you, perhaps you shouldn't read it.  After all it is only one person's point of view.  Have a great day. :)

and would people use that section?

no - and you prove that point coach.  people like using this forum even when there is one that is supposed to be for something else...take your nutrition survey post...that you posted in this section rather than in the proper section.

too many seperate sections ruin forums.

it is simple - have a general section that is ok to post anything that is not offensive or vulgar...that was what I thought General was especially with how it is described.
