Alafia this week and how does it do with rain
« on: August 31, 2009, 10:59:45 AM »
My wife and myself are going to Tampa for a Depeche Mode concert and decided to bring our stumpies to bike Alafia. We normally do Markam or Oleta but heard good reviews on Alafia. The question I have is we will be there the 3rd and 4th and looking at the weather forcast and it shows like 60 percent rain this whole week. How do the trails do with rain and are the trails in good shape and will we have a good time on Thurs and Fri? Thanks...

If it rains - do not ride the trails please. There is a workday this Saturday on Gatorback - avoid that trail at all costs. The Alafia trails as a whole do not hold up well to rain - they easily erode given their soil contents.

Thanks,
Kristopher
