[Yesterday at 07:16:25 PM] mmountainbiker: not on trail map

[Yesterday at 07:20:03 PM] ClintonRH: Quadrants are the 4 trails, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and Northwest down at the South of the park. It's a big loop divided into four quadrants - thus 'The Quadrants'

Santos has to be...
« on: August 30, 2009, 03:46:46 PM »
...the best trail system in Florida.  Obviously I haven't ridden EVERY trail system in Fl., but I can't get over what a phenomenal park it is.  Today was only my second foray out there.  The first time I killed myself trying to ride everything (rode/attempted ALL reds).  Today was a great ride.  Mostly CX, only did the red behind the Vortex area and Sinkhole.  I just couldn't get over the amount of fast flowy trail mixed with some of the most technical stuff available.  It's worth every minute of the two hours to get there.  When you consider the local trails are wet, closed or sketchy, Santos was in perfect condition.  Anyway, just enjoying the honeymoon phase of our relationship and already trying to plot my return!

Rode Santos yesterday for the first time myself. Hit the Epic ride and mixed in some John Brown and Vortex as well. I couldnt get my rythym on JB but still cleaned most of it first time out. The Vortex was a kick * trail as well. After 32 miles into it then hitting the reds was a little tough but a great overall workout. The Nayls section is fast and flowy as well. And I am enjoying my Niner EMD even more. Awesome ride on the epic and the Gnar. I felt real confident on the nasties with it. Finished with just a shade over 42 miles avg about 9.3mph
A awesome trail system.... well worth the drive!

Santos has everything. Its gets my vote as best trail system in florida. Has all styles of riding. I do like to go to landbridge and beyond. Some good trails out that way. San felasco is also a good ride but more XC and just spinning. Razorback was the best but not around anymore.

You would have been proud of me.  I redeemed myself on the rollers, since I knew what was 20 ft. down the trail.  I missed your 60% effort out there today.  Got more mileage, but didn't hit all the reds like we did.  Therefore I didn't feel like puking at the parking lot  ;D .

Vortex is fun but I really enjoy the Nayle's Section.  I've been parking at the 49th Street parking lot and hitting that every time!!
