I credit my endurance to the bike fit done on my bikes.  But a ton of saddle time as well.  Lots of butt'er helps too...

MTB:  WTB Rocket V

Road: Specialized Alias 143mm

MTB: I use the Specialized Body Geometry saddle that has the little slit in the middle. I can ride it for about 4 hours without my butt hurting (wearing pads w/o butt'er).

4 hours? ? ? he said endurance....lol

all joking aside - go to a LBS that has an assometer so you can see what size your sit bones are and make a choice that fits you.

just got the Alias - Specialized BG and it feels pretty good for the long haul. I have found that getting the right sized saddle is the key. I was riding one that was too wide and never realized how good the right one is until i got a fit with it.

I really liked the BG saddle that was on my Hard Rock. I moved it to my GF HiFi when I got that bike. But the rails bent on it now so I got an inexpensive WTB saddle to have something other than the Bontrager pain wedge on top of the seat post until I decide on a nice saddle. I'm watching eBay for another BG saddle but the damn things are expensive. The WTB saddle (a shadow race) I picked up for super-cheap is too narrow for long rides though it's suprisingly comfortable to me. It may find a permanent place on my cyclocross bike

shouldn't be too long until I get the cross bike ready - there are several of us that are going to be doing some cross training rides - I will keep you up to date

Is 5 hours endurance? I thought it had to be 23.25 hours to be endurance.

WTB saddles gave me something called prostatis, which means it hurt to piss. After switching to a specialized - the problem is no longer existent no matter the length of the ride.

I was never a fan of WTB...couldn't get comfortable on them.  I have only had 1 ride on it, but I am really loving my Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow saddle...its got gel, a slit, and it is sexy black so I need to make sure TTT is never alone with it :)

Prior to that saddle, I put a ton of miles on a Selle Italia Max Flite Trans Am, but they don't make this one any more which is a shame.

I just switched to the Specialized Avatar, verdict is still out but so far so good.

For my road bike hands down the ISM Adamo road. best road saddle I ever had.

For me endurance is anything over 3 hours!! ( for those of us over 250lbs just the doubletrack at Boyette seems like an endurance ride sometimes :-\)
