About 10yrs ago is when GT starting doing the Toilet effect, in the last 4-5 years GT has been trying to make a comeback and I believe that some of their stuff has some quality. TACO, you need to set your budget and take it up on yourself to go and try every model within your budget. The bike that I feel good in might not be the bike you'd feel good in. Just my thoughts.

Edge is right get what feels good to you make your decision not based on what everyone else wants you to buy they don`t have to ride it make sure your shop fits you to the right size bike and does not pressure you into something you do not feel good about,Any doubts dont buy it,I have a Zaskar hard tail and am likin it

Hi all ! The only problem I see with the Ibex and Giant bikes is that the wheels are the wrong size .

Giant now makes 29r hardtails.

Trance is a good bang for your buck. That's why I pimp it out to guys looking to upgrade from their clunker. To me, you'd have to pay and extra $1k to get the equivalent to what the Maestro offers. Read some reviews on it and compare to the GT.
My buddy recently did tons of research for a bike that his wife could ride (she has a bad back). They went to 2-3 bike shops and couldn't really find something she totally liked. I told him to bring her over and we'd set up my Trance so she could at least get a feel for it (was too big for her). She liked mine and bought one a few weeks later. She loves it.

If you can wait until the first week of November, you can hit all the demo bikes at the Alafia FTF  ;) Trek, Giant and Gary Fisher were all there last year  :)
