Alafia MTB Race
« on: October 02, 2009, 07:45:07 PM »
If your doing the FSCS race at Alafia I'm going to try and have the course marked by Tuesday afternoon. The course all depends on what happens with the weather. If it's dry it will be a long course probably 10 miles or close to it. If it's going to rain it will be shorter so lets hope for NO RAIN  ;D . It will be different from the past so you might want to ride most of the trails this weekend to get ready.  IT WILL BE FUN

Make sure you include Shelley's Loop and Buzzard Bay in the course.  Rode both of these trails on Wednesday and they were great.
What was I THINKING !!!!!!

Not much passing and I don't want to see the trail ruined from skidding. Who. knows, maybe one day I will change my mind.

The yellow wave lap will be about 9.5 or 10 miles, the white will be about the same or maybe a little longer. White wave will  be one lap, so I might may add a little to it , sport will be 2 laps and expert 3. I'm going to add about 3 or 4 miles of trail we have never used before, I will also take out a few sections we have always used. It will be very different.
This will be the most fun race we have ever had at Alafia. The people who miss this race WILL be Sorry.

With being ridden comes time to maintain them also. I suck this year because I'm working on trails more than riding them. I need to get faster, I need to ride more.

Looking forward to seeing what you throw at us this year.  Hoping to make it out WED or TH evening to check it out.  Last year I made the mistake of not preriding and the race had quite bit of miles on trails that I had hardly ridden (never touched Rockgarden or that loop over by bridges prior to that race).
