It was toough only staying on the two track as the weather was perfect and the trails looking sweet, but he had a ton of fun on the short ride we had.

Good for him.  Yes the trails were perfect, but time with your son was priceless.  He looks like he really enjoyed himself.  Before you know it though, he will start riding more and more.....take half if not all of your bike budget....Then end up wanting to ride all the time with you, and do trail work.....and finally get this crazy idea he wants to race, and bothers you all week to go to Tally. Sorry.....I need Dr. Phil ;D

Seriously, keep him at it.  I can't tell you how proud I was of my son last week for racing.  He even went to school with his medal, and went on there morning show.

I did have to tell mine this weekend I'm riding solo.....he got upset about it, but I will take him out to Carter this morning, and torture him.....I mean enhance his riding skills.

Anyway, sounds like you guys had fun, and I can tell your proud of him.

BTW.....The Niner is sweet!

Took my 8 year old on North Abyss and Ridgeline yesterday for the 1st time. he rode about 70% of both trails and had a blast! we went with a friend of his who is 9 1/2 and his dad, that boy even rode Big Drop....

We saw Mekenzie Mcdaniel out there who is the 9 year old racing phenom (she won the alafia race last week) and her dad Bruce. we also talked to another 8 year old girl and her dad who he said it was her 1st time off-road riding and she did great and loved it.

It was great to see so many kids out there having fun!

Nothing better IMO than seeing kids out on the trails having fun (as long as their parents make them wear a helmet, that is ridiculous at Santos today).
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
