What the Hell is going on @ Boyette?
« on: October 28, 2009, 08:41:02 AM »
So about a month ago I noticed a survey team driving out there.  I've noticed survey flags out there.....here and there........but This last week or so Survey flags are everywhere!!!  What is going on out there?  I hope it's not going to turn into a highway!

It's where the new monorail is going.  That way Catman won't complain about bonking on the double track anymore.   :D

It's about time.  I have been complaining about the ride out/back for a while.  I was starting to think people were ignoring me.

It's really a safety issue. Some of us big fat babies cry so much on the two track that we get dehydrated :)

Pave that two track NOW! No highways though.

Sounds like they are trying to sneak this road through again without anyone knowing about it.

This comes up once a year for the last 2-3 years.  Just ask Gary, Sean, JJ and others that even attended county board meetings.

From what I remember, the county/state traffic planning board (or whaterever name they go by now) were planning a connector for the Lakeland people to go south on 75 to avoid I-4.  If the plan ever materialises, it would put a highway around where the old tracks uses to be.  If so, it is POSSIBLE we would loose all the trails north of that line.  That means loch ness, gator bait, golf card, canyon, mt. boyette, and the abyses.  Again, this is JUST OPINION and nobody asked me for it.  So take it for what is worth which is less then $0.0000000001 to some of you.  LOL...

Who knows, maybe a highway near there will bring us a parking lot trail head deeper inside boyete, camping, paved trail, bike wash, taco stand, a bar for beer, but I am just dreaming outloud.

Back to may hole now...   :-*

From what I read here and the article provided to us by that link, a compromise would be needed to bring a road through there. Perhaps a elevated span 4 miles long should do it.

For the record I like the 2 mile in and out it's a good warm up and cool down and keeps ppl that can't handle a little ride out!

I just wish there was a way to get clean water while out there.  I don't think i'll be drink'n the swamp water that is at the end of ridgeline anytime soon.
