Alafia Video
« on: November 11, 2009, 11:39:03 PM »
Couple of years ago someone posted a video of Alafia. I had it saved and iy must have gotten deleted cause I can't find it. It was the absolutely BEST video of Alafia's trails I have ever seen. Very professional and camerwork was top notch. Only thing I can remember is a guy trying to catch a black snake in the video. Anyone kknow where I can find it?? I would like to send to a fiend I am trying to convince to ride and latest videos are CRA-.

ProEdge has tons of great new vids (proedgebiker.com).  But you are referring to the Ride Of Your Life IV video by Brandon Cain.  They were part of the USF Cycling team back in 2005-2007.  They had several ROYL videos of the trails from here.  I'll dig it out and repost.  I agree it was a great video.

I've seen those videos and to be honest, I get a headache watching them. Too shaky. Yup, the Ride of Your Life IV is the right one come to think of it. The music on that matches the flow of the video. I don't like when the put in a lot of Rock music and it does not match the flow of the video.

Not to say anything bad about ProEdge. I have seen a lot of home made videos and they were pretty good. He can only get better and he is doing a lot of good letting people know what is available up here.

I had it on my computer and uploaded it to youtube.  They used to have it on myspace but Brandon must've deleted them.  Here it is again..

Wait tell proedge sees this. We will have a new all time views/posts thread. It will no doubt top the leg shaving one.

Not my video guys.  This was done back in 2004 or 2005 before we even knew what HD was.  Also note that the video has been converted from pm4 to AVI and WMV.  I don't know what the original format was.  Youtube also does some sort of compression so a lot resolution is lost.

ProEdge's videos are the best I seen of our trails.  The video above shows two guys who were mainly roadies (USF Cycling Team) at the time having tons of fun on mtb trails.  Weren't out for a long day of xc riding or racing.  they hit several very technical areas.  Well coordinated with music and transitions between scenes.

To each their own guys. it doesnt bother me that YaMon doesnt like the vids.. I must admit that the earlier videos b4 the ContourHD was being used were very shaky.  All early Shaky videos will be deleted once i get a new vid of the same trail.

I Prefer the POV of an entire trail so people get an idea of what to expect, i really dont like editing, clipping and adding pictures.

and yes, choosing music, is the toughest part in the making of the video

Don't want to start anything, but I think a mix of on bike videos, stills and stationary videos are best. The on bike thing gets boring after awhile and if the person is not steady or framing the rider in front perfectly it gives me a massive headache
