Boyette Night Rides
« on: November 17, 2009, 04:43:24 PM »
This Fridays Night Ride at Boyette might be an issue.   Hang tight and I'll post up what is going on as soon as I know the details.

Boyette is a great place to ride at night.  If you have not tried it, I highly suggest it.. Hopefully we will be able to continue riding one night a month.

Oh don't say this is cancelled! I've been planning on this ride for a couple of weeks now!

I'm out of town in SoFla again this Friday so I'll be missing it regardless. Too bad, I want to do Boyette at night again and my new headlamp should be here tomorrow. Hopefully next month.

This Fridays night ride at Boyette is on!  Meet in parking at 6:30; have to be out of the park by 9:30.  Unfortunately I have to work, so let me know how it went.

Sorry to hear you have to work Garry, but I'm glad this didn't get cancelled. Quick question, is this setup like a group ride, or can we break into smaller groups as long as everyone is out by the set time?

Originally it was a guided group ride with some leeway for separate groups.  Everyone who came out to play acted responsible and there were no problems (Land Managers thought there might be) so if people are out by 9:30 and no one gets left behind - different level groups can enjoy.  I'm sure everyone looks out for each other and "plays by the rules." ;)

Others make the rules, we just follow them and have fun.

I have a set of old Marwi double NiMh lights that I would like to have rebuilt. Anyone know of a Swampclub Member that can do this......all gibberish to me, just need it working and see if I can convert to Lithium batteries.

shouldn't be hard. Lion chargers are usually pretty versatile and can charge a wide range of voltages so it shouldn't be difficult to build a lion pack for a voltage close to the old NiMH pack. If the light has some kind of battery status indicator that probably wouldn't work right but the actual lights shouldn't care about the chemistry.

Just found some NiMh on MTBR. Used twice, $45 incuding charger. Can't go wrong with that, just may have to pedal a little harder.
