Swampclub Lending Library????
« on: February 14, 2007, 08:35:15 PM »
It occurred to me today that it is basically a crap shoot if you want to try a new accessory for your bike,  It may look awesome in the pics but suck in real life.  Others opinions of said item will of course vary.  It also occurred to me that I have a few of said items around that are not being used.  I also have items I like that I have extras of that others might want to try.

So what I am getting at is maybe we should come up with a method and a set of rules for sharing these items.  For example I use ergon grips.  Many people want to try them but are unwilling to spend the 30 plus dollars to check them out.  Well it just so happens I have an extra set I would be willing to lend to my fellow swampers.  I also have a wtb laser seat that could be available.

Oh and by the way I would love to try a 27.2mm set back seatpost (hint hint)

Ideas? Suggestions?

Good idea Beercan. Probably the thing to do is post up and ask if someone has a such and such that one can try. As far as that set back seatpost goes, I gots mine and its sweet.   My newest bike parts include an American Classic wheelset (courtesy of the Idster) at a firesale wholesale price and a seatpost under saddle spare tube/ tools carrier that will enable me to ride bareback (no camelback) !!!!! Also gots me a set of specialised arm warmers and new egg beaters sl pedals, which I noticed on the box comes with a two year warranty!  Color me purple and orange, tie a rope around me, hang me from a tree, beat me with a stick and turn me into a MTB pinada because I am one happy camper!  ;D

Those wheels are sweet! The met the owner at Chainwheel Drive in Clearwater a few weeks back. She had some mountain and road wheel sets she was showing. Rick from Chainwheel bought a set of mtb wheels. I couldn't beleive how smooth the bearings were. If you didn't get a product catalog, grab one, they have alot of other stuff too. They look really nice also. If you don't mind me asking , which set and how much were they. I'm yhinking of upgrading to a better set of Mavics, any suggestions?

maybe the thing to do would be to have a club swap meet once in a while..

gives people a chance to see what extra stuff everyone has and some guidlines for setting up borrowing stuff from one another...

my two cents...  but its a great idea...

=Bob...   ;D
the world should ride a rigid singlespeed!

I got a sweet deal from the Idster. He bought another new set  and had these as back up. its my first quality set of wheels and I noticed a big difference in speed and acceleration. I don't know about different models, I have the 26" MTB disc wheel set. It doesn't say anything on the hubs except American Classic. $200.00 large for the set.

5th element coil.  It is a very nice shock.  I have 2 different springs for it.
BTW I am ordering some brakes so the heckler should be available for test drive soon.
