Sometimes you get tired of Filet Mignon..........
« on: December 12, 2009, 03:16:33 PM »
And you need something different like a Kobe Beef Burger.... or OK a plain old Hot Dog.With no Mustard or Relish or Onions! So I decided I would try something different. Been meaning to try a ride from my house to some offroad trails ..... somewhere. SO taking a cue from the Naked Indian himself I DID something a little different and IT was fun.
SO I hit the road on Saturday Afternoon for a quick ride.

A few miles on the road (GASP) and I was gone! Arrived at a relatively unknown trail in no time.
Advertised as 6 + miles of offroad trails it was worth a try.

So it is all doubletrack but not a soul in sight. SOme of it is packed and some muddy and one section of all out sand. Thanks to the recent rains it was packed and easily rideable.

How bout some creek crossing. Bottom Bracket Blingers turn away from the sight! It had some rock in it so it was solid. A little bit of Granny gear and some balance and it was nothing!

All in all a change of scenery and riding. 16 miles round trip and right out my door. Another trail Ive been eyeing and have hiked on is all singletrack and within 5 miles from the door. I will hit that one up next.

You can get all of those  preserves in a bound book  @ southwest water management district. watermatters.org to get all those preserves. the book is about a inch thick and it's loaded with hiking and biking trails. and it's free..
Nice to see your taking a page out of NI's book..

I have one of those close to me...use it to run my dog. "Bubba the Mountainbike Dog"
he is semi retired so Its a great place for a leisurely hike or bike. I've seen deer, snakes, bobcats, turkeys, rabbits, turtles and hawks. Its only 1 mile from my driveway.
Paintboy you prolly know where it is...off of Ramblewood.

Yeah. I can get in from my hood. Public access is on Ramblewood Rd. off of van Dyke.
