This has probably been done before, but I haven't seen one lately.  What's your current favorite SW Florida mountain bike trail and why?

I really enjoy the entire park at Alafia. I voted for Rollercoaster since it's the one trail (loop?) that I can actually just drop the hammer, and turn it on. The technical sections keep me on my toes, but it's not anything that makes you think... "Oh my gawd I'm gonna die". The new section absolutely ROCKS! I rode it today for the first time, and had to double back and ride it a second time to ride it clean. There are other parts of Alafia that I enjoy as much... but, start to finish, RC is my favorite.

I have not ridden Boyette, or Croom... but, I am sure Ridgeline will be right up at the top, once I get out on it.

Cheers!!!

I voted for Rollercoaster as well. Its quick has lots of challenges but not too scary. Really like Moonscape as well. But... for that get away from it feeling and nice flowy trails, Its hard to beat croom when its in its Prime. Blue loop is awesome.

After I set this poll up, I started thinking about the choices, and it was harder than I thought it would be to pick a favorite.  A lot of great trails around here.  That being said, I think at the moment I'm going to have to cast the vote for Moonscape.  It's got the right mix of meat and potatoes stuff that requires continual vigilance, as well as some extra options that are a challenge no matter how much of a juggernaut you are.  I also like the vibe in that part of the park for some reason.  Edgy.

I will say though, RC and RL come in a VERY close 2nd.

CROOM BLUE!
Haha...after living near that place for 6 months and riding Croom 4 times a week, I almost put that in as an option.  Really the whole place is great -- the solitude alone is worth the trip.

I passed this around in my head and could not come up with a clear cut favorite, my first impulse was Vortex or Jon Brown with the nod going to the vortex just for the extra duration BUT Ridgeline is SO sweet!!! but it don't get much better than laps around the Abyss and then theres Moonscape, BUT Gatorback is so cool as is Rollercoaster. So many fond memories of Nayls and miles at Croom :) We are so fortunate to have so many WORLD CLASS trails at our disposal :)

I tried to reply, but I guess something happened.  I voted for RL.  Simply put, there is no other trail like it at any park.  It is smooth, fast, flowy, and full of climbs and descents.  If it were the only trail at Boyette, most people would still go there.

I feel the same way.  Too many to have to try and narrow down to just one.  My favorite trail today might not be my favorite tomorrow.

So, for that reason, I am not voting on one.

trail: gotta love john brown, or better yet, brown john. ;)

reason: it doesn't get much more tech than that.
