Walmart upping it's game?
« on: December 23, 2009, 03:04:34 PM »
So I'm at walmart last night doing some last minute shopping and I can't pass the bike section with out a quick look. What I saw kinda caught me off guard cause it looked like a half way decent bike. It was a mongoose with shimano running gear, trigger shifters and all, full suspension, sr suntour fork with preload adjustment and rear cheapo shock with a tension adjustment, and disk brakes on both wheels. I picked it up and it weighed just a bit more then my hardrock and was priced about $300.
There is no way I would recommend this to anyone over a properly fitted bike from a good bike store, but I thought it was interesting that walmart is carrying what seemed to be a better level of bike.

no, it was kinda like this one but the frame was a more simple design. I can't seem to find it on their website. once again I'm not suggesting anyone buy it, I just thought it was interesting.
