With the exception of cars and houses...whatever happened to saving money to buy something?  Living beyond one's means is what got this country into the mess we are in now.  Sorry...completely off topic.

Any luck finding a bike?  That XL Specialized in the classified section seems like a steal.

Why not let your money work for you in a interest bearing account, while making small monthly interest free installments ::)

I just purchased a $3k Mackbook Pro with 12mo same as cash, I have the money to pay it off but i rather let my $3k build interest and send in $200/mo then pay off the remaining balance on the last month.

Having Credit is good, that's what built this great country of ours but if you dont have the money as back up, credit could be Very dangerous.

Easy, the dude has a $200-$250 budget and people are telling him to get a new bike on credit/finance.

I was all set to buy a bike last week, then my heat broke. So the money I had saved for the bike went to make it so my 2-year-old stays warm. So, looks like it'll be a little bit still. I do appreciate all the input, you guys are very helpful!
