Mileage continuem - the never ending post
« on: February 21, 2007, 10:27:04 PM »
A rode ride today!! Only 16 miles but it was fun. Rode loops around bloomingdale with paul and graham and then Darren and Ken showed up and dropped me within a mile. Too fast!! I rode another loop after being dropped and i heard they did another 4 loops (16 miles) at the same pace. Fast roadies!! We were riding around 8.00 pm with the lights and it felt pretty good. I have to try and keep up with those road monkeys!  Nonetheless, scratch another 16 miles on the ole tote board beaaatch!

just over the 300 mile mark - i am riding tonight on the road - doing the swamp training ride at alafia saturday and then practicing the squiggy course a couple laps sunday - so i am going to be riding like crazy to try and catch up - on the downside i have to miss 3 weeks of riding (i have to have hernia surgery) the biggest change in m riding patterns however comes middle of march when the time zone changes and i can ride more during the week after work.

No Garry, kayak miles do not count.  :(

Now that you are working more, there is less time to ride.  About the only time I get to ride in on the weekends.  Work, 2 young boys, and a wife keep me busy during the week.

I also did the 5 miles in Harvey's class. I was able to succesfully ride the easier part of Franks Loop, and tried the harder part.  ;D ;D ;D   After the class, H-Man and I did about 3 more miles by riding North Creek to the campground to visit Jerry and Marsha.

With 72 miles ahead of me you're making me work to keep up!  Wish I still had my days free - I would pass you for sure!   ;D  Now I'm looking at my daily sched to see if I can toss some urban rides in just to up my mileage.  So much for my goal of 2400 miles this year; looks like I'll get that before the fall.  Although in April I will spend a week of mountain biking in the mountains.

No problem Bob....  Almost all cancelled on me anyway.  I guess they are Squiggy ready!!!  LOl....

It was just three of us and it may turn out to be our team after all.  But, that may mean we will go co-ed.  So of course, we will kick butt in that category.  But come think of it, there were some good times in the co-ed division last year.  Our best bet may be over 120.  Oh well, it is going to be fun.   That is if I can keep my allergies down that day.  Usually by noon-time in March I am so miserable.

We did only one lap on the squiggy trails yesterday.  My bike acted up and the noise I been getting for days started getting louder and louder.  I have lube all components of my seat and seat post.  After cleaning them out and washing everything.  It is now sand free.  So I have narrowed it down to the seat post clamp or one of the suspension bolts.  One of the main bolts was a bit loose.  I dropped the bike at AJ's and I will have them take the suspension all apart and clean and lube every single bolt.  Tight them all back.  HOpefully that will get rid of that noise.  I can't ride with out it.

NO worries, i am still 4 miles short of taking your 4th spot.
