Lake County - New Trail Opportunity
« on: February 23, 2010, 10:05:24 AM »
this is a cross post from MTBR.

http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=455111

If you live in Lake or the surrounding area, there is a meeting at Mt Dora City Hall on Tuesday, 3/2 at 7 PM. An ajenda item is the building of a new trail in Mt Dora.

Stop by the meeting and support if you can.

There is more public land in Lake County under the direction of the Local Water Authority. This trail's success in Mt Dora could open the door to that larger plot of land - land with better topography - it can if Mt Dora's gets volunteers and support showing the local gov't the support of the biking community.

Do what you can.

Rob

My grandparents live out in that area and we always see a bunch of road bikes on or around CR 561.  I think they have some sort of formal event out there every year.  That area has some crazy hills.

Ill be there march 2nd for sure. It sure would be nice to have another option closer to home. Tired of driving out to ocala, lakeland, and gainseville to get some riding in.
