« on: March 03, 2010, 10:48:31 AM »
What day are they going to let us ride the sqiggy race course in advance of the race? Isn't it this weekend? Does anyone have specifics? Thanks

I posted this in the general thread under a previously started thread but I don't think it was seen. Thanks guys.

I uderstand that but I have heard that the course is closed to the public and opened up for registered riders in advance. This is my first one and I was curious about the actual course.

I think it will be different this year since SWAMP is not putting it on. Red Trail Racing is putting it on this year. www.redtrailracing.com

I think you are thinking of the SERC race at Haile's trail. Hailes is closed to the public except for the day before and the race itself. Morris Bridge is open to the public EXCEPT race day....

The course will include most trails on the Morris Bridge side, so they are easy to practice on. the course will be about 9 to 10 miles, so practice riding 10 miles non-stop on the morris bridge trails and you will do fine.

I guess I heard wrong. I appreciate the info and  the response.

Actually the course was closed the day before the race last year for pre riding, there was a gate attendant letting people in and out. Hole in the Fence was closed period :)

Probably.  But with continued positive thinking maybe it will be all sunshine and rainbows.

Just to clear up the Pre Race ride thing..

The course should be laid out by Friday the 12th, BUT The trails WILL NOT be closed this year due to the county now charging the $2 fee (they would lose income) and YES, you will have to pay the fee to pre-ride AND again to race (unless you have an annual pass). The race registration Does NOT cover the $2 park fee. The Morris Bridge trails will be Closed to the public on Race Day.

The course is looking like it will be about 9.5 miles with some new stuff not used in the past.. It will be Fast and Fun...  :D
