invest in some UST wheels and tires.

No way.. I had those on one of my bikes and they are a BITCH to get the tire off. You pretty much need a crowbar to get tires off of a ust rim...

Guess my fingers are crowbars then. I've never had an issue getting them on or off by hand, at least on the Mavic rims. True UST only for me, light sidewall tires just need more air pressure IME to feel right, and I hit stuff too hard to run light sidewall tires anyway.

Crazy how people say that, i've never had a problem taking or putting my tires on. i think the problem for some lies on not centering the bead on the wheel b4 takeoff.

Maybe it was just the wheels I had. I had Bontrager ust wheels and ust Captain's and they were really hard to get off. I actually ended up taking one to the bike shop to get it off it was to tight...

Maybe I am just a whimp... :)

They are telling the truth, it varies by tire and rim combo tubed or tubeless.  Your tire / rim combo is not necessarily theirs.

OK, so if anyone has some Stan's laying around that they don't want, let me know. I may take it off your hands...

I've been running Stan's rims + yellow tape successfully for years.  Would never go back to UST (if it became readily available for 29").

If you centered the beads on the rim channel you would not have an alternative opinion  ;)

I run Crossmax SLR's and have never had an issue removing and replacing tires by hand...Very simple. This included my old Kenda Nevegal's and now my Maxxis Ignitor LUST 2.1's. Simple, simple, simple. Someone posted the link to notubes.com which is what I used the first time around. Very helpful.
