Is Morris Bridge safe to ride this Sunday?
« on: March 09, 2010, 02:56:23 PM »
My wife and I are thinking of hitting up Morris Bridge this Sunday, but I don't know if there's any other squiggy events going on that day.  We plan on riding the south side only, at Hole in the Fence.

Not sure if it would be closed or not.  The trail run that morning is out of Trout Creek (I doubt they would cross the street over to hole in the fence).  The adventure race is also Sunday and that starts/ends at Morris Bridge.  I'm guessing some of the trails could be closed since there is a biking component to the adventure race.

Oh well, maybe we'll stick to the pavement for another week.

By the way, I will be out Saturday for your race.  Are you doing solo or team?

Awesome dude!  Looking forward to seeing you on Sat.

Giving up on the solo effort this year.  Last two years didn't go too well and I didn't do any training to help the situation.  Doing a three man team with Chuck and another guy.

Well I'm glad to hear you and Chuck are riding as a team, this means I'll have time to visit with both of you.  What time are you guys getting there?

We plan on getting there pretty early to setup.  Probably around 7:30.

Additionally, the Adventure racers will be using the Mountain bike course on Sunday.

The Squiggy is a three day event, this year the park is only closed for 2 of them. Saturday and Sunday. The skaters will be active up in Flatwoods well into the afternoon.

Dave....don't forget to bring some cash for parking.  Not sure if you have been there recently but they now charge $2 per car.

Good looking out, I had no idea.  Is this just at the "boat ramp" area or even at hole in the fence?

They have pay envelopes and a iron canister. you rip off a hang tag and punch out the day. rangers come by checking the box and the car every so often..
