Alert: Emergency vehicles will be at Boyette this Saturday
« on: March 31, 2010, 10:41:41 PM »
Hillsborough  County Fire Rescue will be conducting off-road navigation and vehicle  operations training for their volunteers out of Station 8 (Sundance) this  Saturday, April 3rd, at the Balm-Boyette Scrub Nature Preserve.  There  will only be three brush trucks from Stations 8, 22 & 28 navigating on the two-trails,  mostly in the southeastern portion of the preserve, so there shouldn't be much  in the way of disruption to the bike traffic, since the bike trails in that  area mostly wander around in the woods and, generally, aren't on the two-trails,  where the trucks will be driving.
The stations mentioned above are the ones that respond to  most of the emergency calls from injured bikers and hikers at Balm-Boyette  Scrub, so this off-road navigation training and site familiarization is vitally  important, not only for the HCFR crews, but to the users of the preserve.
