who wants to do the "Boyette 30" this coming Saturday?
« on: April 11, 2010, 09:14:39 PM »

A few of us did this a couple months ago and had a blast! We rode every trail at balm-boyette (except Big drop because it looked nasty) at least once and some twice. We packed a lunch and dropped it and extra water at the picnic tables close to the Loch Ness entrance for our break about 2/3's of the way through.

I want to do this again before it gets to hot and it would be a great warm-up for the Re-Scheduled Squiggy race on the 25th.

The route we followed last time was the following:

Part 1: SST to 2 track, dropped off lunch at tables, Loch Ness, upper loch ness, Randy's trail, lower spider berm, upper spider berm, gator pit, golf cart, mt boyette, canyon, north abyss, sidewinder, swamp thing, ridgeline, south abyss, pandemonium, sidewinder, swamp thing, garry's loop, woods trail, eats meadow, Spur, upper spider berm, randy's trail, lower west meadow, Vista ridge, upper west meadow, lower west meadow, baby nessie, inner loch ness, then take a break at the picnic tables for lunch...

Part 2: Palmetto Cable, all 4 quads, 2 track to sst and done....

should put us at 30 miles with the addition of lower west meadow and big drop this time...

Who is with me?

Going to be attempting cycle-suicide on the Dirty Dano 100 otherwise I'd like to. Really wish I hadn't been slacking off so hard for the last few weeks.

Yeah, I cant be gone that long that day or I would have signed up for that.. I would have to do the early start and finish late on that one...

good luck with the quadrants - i was nostalgic last week and rode the southern quads. i got totally lost and turned around multiple times. i ended up coming out where i started. a gps track would help.

The run not the bike killed me on that. I did the 50 at Santos the week before that and thought that it was easy. In fact I went back out and added some miles with the cyclocross bike.

quads are fine, as long as you like sliding on a bed of leaves continuously :)
