Course tape and flags
« on: May 09, 2010, 04:05:14 PM »
Rode Alafia this morning, and noticed course tape and flags all over the place. I assume they are left over from the fire fighter games earlier in the week. I think it is pretty crappy that the event organizers didn't clean this stuff up. Is there a way to make sure that stuff like this doesn't happen in the future?

That is an unacceptable answer. I've carried my fair share and then some of other peoples "souveniers" out of the woods. That is part of it sometimes. This is a sanctioned event, and those that organize it need to be held accountable. A couple gel wrappers is one thing, 30-40 orange flags and 100ft of yellow caution tape is another.

Got a reply already this morning. Evidently whoever was sent to police this stuff up missed a few spots, and it is gonna be taken care of. :)

I think they were blowing smoke up your can.  I rode out there today, and the tape and flags are still all over the place.

That is disappointing. You would think that these guys being firefighters and cops, they would know be better than this.

FYI: I spoke to some guys @ my FD about this and they said that it's a Private Company that holds these games(not firefighters).
