911 is the emergecy contact for Boyette, Alafia and the Wilderness trails.
I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity.

911 works for all.  Worked at Croom for me before.

Always carry a whistle and a cellphone, a knife isn't a bad idea too, plan for an emergency.  Get to high ground if possible, at least out of the gator slide areas.   If forced to stay overnight try to get elevated if possible.  Don't lay in vines, try to stay on the trail.   Always let someone know you're at the trails and if they haven't heard from you by nightfall to call for help.    I'd imagine a cage in the lot after hours might indicate to the land managers that someone is still out there.

911 at Boyette is like a 12-15 minute response time to the gate.  Then if they were given good quordinates of where you are it depends on how far back you are.  To call the Park Office just slows the time up because then they have to relay to 911.  Just don't crash.  Simple, right?   ;)

Good advice Gary!

Why is it that you and I did not follow that advice? ( At least we were not alone, we had plenty of people to worry about how we got out of the woods)

Do not ride alone.... Kitty food

On my most major crash I was the only one with a cell phone, but couldn't talk for a bit until I was able to blurt out that I had a phone in my pack.  Then someone used it to call 911.  That was a freaky time.  Yeah, riding alone is sketchy.  I still do it at times but am quite cautious!
