Have you ever wished you had a camera?
« on: March 10, 2007, 12:58:35 PM »
I just couldn't let this go.

Our brother Beercan aka Sean, was rolling in from his second lap in the Squiggy Race. As he came in to the area right by the timing table, where I was sitting until just a few minutes ago, he was waving to a friend that was there to support him when he leaned oh so slightly too far forward. He got him self tangled in the barricade and.......You got it, over the bars he came. As he started to go over he locked his eyes right on me, as if to say....%^*#. To his credit he was immediately on his feet in a very stylish pirouette.

This was one of those moments that I just wished I had brought my camera!!

I was not able to stay for the finish, but all of you guys were doing great when I left. Some had dirt on there shoulders, and helmet though.

Rofl, sounds priceless. I get he feeling that most of you guys aren't going to be doing the club ride tomorrow at Alafia lol. ;D I expect to see pics of squiggy since I'm stuck here and cant get over there.

I don't know - I heard a lot of folks saying they were going to do the Alafia ride in the morning. I'll be there, but doing a more relaxed B- pace or something that doesn't beat me up too bad.

Humberto and I took third place!!!!   Whoo Hooo!

yep we'll be at alafia in the morning..  dont know how long i'll be able to stay.. my brother has a long drive to make tomorrow...

but hey todays squiggy was a blast.. ultimate community.. our little area was great and every one was really friendly out on the trails..  while matty and me did some serious passing..!!!  i had a blast, one things for sure i dont think anyone left anything out on those trails.. there was some serious effort out there today and its cool to be rooting for everyone to do so well, even your competition.

I.E. Garry and Humberto..   ;D

But it was a blast..  Lots of folks did way better than last year.. Sandpine, Max, and Barry gave a fine fine fine showing.. Janice Medaled in the Womens Division..

Garry and Humberto took third in the "Old Man Division"   :D.....  Oh yeah.. and Matty and Me took the Gold!  8 laps baby!!   :o

But it was a great time with some great friends...  cant wait for next year..

First off -- Congrats to all our winners.  I think the forum riders put in quite a showing.  Bob and his brother just scorched the circuit!  I had a blast and can't wait for the next event.

Gregg -- Man, that fall was a classic case of trying to do to many things at once  :-[  There is nothing like going OTB in front of like 70 people.  I really do hope someone caught it on film as I would love to see the expression I must have had on my face  :o

On the negative side I was a little disappointed at all of the litter that started to accumulate on the trail.   >:( :(  I hope the litter people were not swamp members.

It's about the race, I agree  --    but winning and getting free stuff is pretty cool!     8) I got a pair of short fingered cannondale gloves ( they do fit!), A Santos bike shop water bottlem 2 cannisters of co2, a large bottle of White Lightning lube,  a tee shirt from Giant and of course the medal. The medal is the least valuable and the medal is the most valuable.  8)

I am going to ride the course on wed night with a buddy of mine that just started riding.  I am going to bring a kitchen garbage bag with me and I will pick up whatever I can.  Bob if you can make it cool but be aware my buddy is way slow and out of shape.  We did 12 at boyette today and he was smoked.

No doubt about it ALL of you guys did awesome, I only wish I could have been out there with you. I was impressed with all of you guys.

As far as the expression on your face, it was priceless when you realized you were going over and your eyes locked on mine. I swear I may never forget it!!!
