« on: August 26, 2010, 09:38:04 PM »
I plan on heading out now that the rain has helped paved Croom. Anyone else wanta go and do some minor Hammer Dropping?  Black Motobecane, PEB jersey , White Crownvic - thinking of parking near FIre Tower (aka - Croom parking #3)

Looking for 20 ish miles - maybe a bit more

Try this route E, park at #1 where the paved Withlacoochie trail crosses Croom road. The trail head enters on the SW corner, take the signs to Blue North, Ride Blue CCW all the way around to the Red that runs parrallel along Croom road back to #1 parking. You have the option to include Sugar MTN or not, this will get you in the mid 20's for mileage and includes all the GOOD stuff :)

If taking off from parking#1 be aware Bob is leading a work day on that suggested route.

Maybe a good day to build some trail karma and help Bob and his very small crew work in those new trails that are getting MTB's away from the moto trails.

PS Dont try and outrun Bob, regardless of which Niner he has with him, it just wont work.

Croom Work Day

This Saturday is the Croom work day. I need your HELP. We will meet at 0800 at
trailhead #1. Bring a garden rake and cutters if you have them. If you can't
make the start time follow the blue trail going north, we will be working on the
new trail somewhere in that area or call me at 352-442-1018.
This new trail is to get us off of the trail we share with the motorcycle enduro
every year.

Let me know if you can make it so I can plan the food.

Thanks,
Bob

So new plan is 8:30 at #1 then?  Hoping to be on the trail by 9.  Riding all north blue then maybe south blue or red back to #1 depending on how folks feel.
