Just wondering if the road out has dried up yet. :)

It was pretty nasty on Saturday, so I would guess the answer is, "yes."

I went out yesterday. For the most part it's dry. The couple of sections that hold water are of course holding water, but not as bad as it was last weekend. Very doable.

Thanks guys. I think by this weekend it should be in pretty good shape then. As long as we don't get anymore bad rains that is.

Boyette is VERY yuck!!  2 mile out smells like buzzard bay (bird shizz), full of big spots that look almost dry but sink 3-6" deep.  Trails are extremely eroded and sandy.  There is absolutly no flow right now.  its similar to Alafia trails, except the 2 mile out and back kill you when you go out and do 10-15 miles in the trails.  They are very technical right now.  Enjoy!  bring water and band-aids  :)

Ill be there tomorrow  ;)

Does anybody live close by to Boyette and know first hand conditions after today's rain?

Boyette was very nice today. The 2 mile double track had just a couple muddy spots and mostly harder packed sugar sand. A lot of Golf Cart was overgrown but the rest was awesome. I heard some County Workers saying it was closing tomorrow for 3-4 weeks as they remove dead trees and refurbish the area in general ( mostly from SST) and that SST will be closed indefinately. Good ride, still incredibly hot!  :-\

Maybe because ever since I got my 4x4 truck I feel waaaay too boystrous but I have this urge that gnaws me from inside out. How cool would it be to be able to just drive up to the junction where first trail starts (only for 4x4 vehicles) and unload there and then when the day is over just turn around and ride back? Perhaps I'm too wishful and I suppose some cars could potentially get stuck and or run over turtles... its just that... 2 miles without SST is 2 miles without SST... Its long and that sandy stretch of road is painful. Sand there either feels like its about to swallow you when wet and or is about 4 inches thick so you cant ride through it without toppling over. I dont know about you guys but I think it would be super if they could dump a few truck loads of stones there so we could get to the trails faster and less grumpy.

On another side of things... baaaaad timing. My folks and sisters are coming over late September and I really wanted to show them the trails. I dont know Alafia at all so I do not want to put my family in danger of getting hurt even on green trails. I hear it is root heaven there.

So just to be clear the trails will not be open at all tomorrow?

The land manager said last Thursday that starting Tuesday the place would be closed for 3-4 weeks.  If it's any different I will find out tomorrow afternoon when I get home from work.

We still plan to have the workday this coming Saturday, so if anyone can lend a hand that would be great.
