Sharing the Trail
« on: September 01, 2010, 09:28:32 AM »
I know most of the off-road trails around Trout Creek and Flatwoods are used by bikes. Is it bad etiquette for runners to use the trails too? I wasn't sure if they are bike only, since I've never seen a runner/hiker on them. Unfortunately tampa doesn't offer much trail running, so I may have to opt for this area. Thoughts?

100's or Runners use the bikes trails, and that's fine.

But, you never see runners doing any trail work...

So true.. I see high school teams and others running out there all the time, but never once seen them at a trail work day.. There were actually a couple runners out there last night..

I think I've mentioned it to Ken....why don't we ask the coaches and get them to get their kids out for trail work?  Most high school kids need volunteer hours to fulfill some requirement or another and it'd be a great match, IMHO.  I think he's concerned about having young men and women running around with sharp objects.

Are runners still worth 10 points?
