Temporary closure of Boyette
« on: September 01, 2010, 04:31:00 PM »
Hey folks,
Possibly starting next Tuesday Balm-Boyette will be closed while they harvest some trees that fell during the wildfire there a few weeks ago.  It will take between 3 and 4 weeks for them to finish so access to the property will not be available during that time.

I will let you know if Tuesday is the start day or not when I find out.

Thank you for your patience while they clean up some of the mess from the fire.

Garry

Yeah, when I rode it 2 weeks ago the 2 track was so bad it spoiled the rest of my ride...

3-4 weeks! Thats what happens when you got county workers doing it. I bet a bunch of SWAMPER's could get it done in a couple of days. Sounds like I better ride out there this weekend.

I doubt the county is doing the actual work. It will be an independent contractor. The county will most likely get some of the money. Expect the 2 track to really be wrecked when thier done. They will probably have the 18 wheelers hauling the cut timber out. And the feller/bunchers cause quite a bit of soil disturbance. It all comes back nice though in a few months. Thanks for knocking county workers though. I appreciate it.  ;)

Firebiker -

Some of us appreciate government employees who set the woods on fire.  Thanks.

Yep, I imagine it will look a mess when they are done.  Hopefully we can cut new and improved single track from the parking lot out when all is said and done.   ;D

Garry was checking with the land manager when he gets off work today.. I would assume yes since that the last he had heard.

I assume it will have to be a 2 1 ways for the amount of traffic it will encounter
