Had the opprtunity to take a ride with a new rider at flatwoods today. We did the loop through morris bridge and trout creek.I havnt been through morris bridge or trout creek for ten years and gotta say it was a blast.Better than I remember. Is heart break ridge really very difficult?? I couldnt convince my buddy to try it so I will have to do it another day.
IS Heartbreak Ridge that difficult? It depends upon your confidence level. And your personal fear factor. I rode for a few years before I worked up enough courage to try it. I'd walk some parts (my glasses really are magnifying glasses for the roots, you know) and ride what I could. I really worry about being speared by a stray cypress knee if I should fall wrong. Finally decided I'd been wimp enough and just hammered through it and made myself do it. Adrenaline, etc. Heart racing, sucking wind, but I made it.
I've done it, many times, and I realize I just don't enjoy it. It's a hammerfest, to me. It's a very, very bumpy ride, but only difficult in a few 10 second increments. But those difficult parts are treacherous (again, to me) and require your full attention.
I've got friends who love it and friends who hate it. When we ride together, we just meet at the end of Washboard by the power lines.
I'm a recreational rider, whose learning curve is a very long, gradual incline.
