Alafia ride report....sort of.
« on: October 08, 2010, 08:25:20 PM »
A lot of the trails are very sandy.  The new drop on Moonscape is beastly fast!  ;D   Hitting a large rock on a Gatorback descent can result in several painful bruises.  And last but not least, the 8' Gator on the poop loop is still hanging out at the switchback and unwilling to move for ANY biker!  Enjoy!
God is great, beer is good, people are crazy!

I noticed a lot of sand yesterday as well. We did not run into poop loop gator yesterday am but man it smells like poop there.

Save for 1 or 2 spots I didn't find it particularly sandy, weird...

Moonscape seems particularly sandy, The new drop, the single track between doom and no dab and the last climb out. That last climb would benefit from some, dare I say pavers :)

That last climb out is gonna get a renovation someday. Art has a nice little addition planned for that section.

Art has a couple of suprise changes to the course also. We worked on one last month during the workday, will make a nice change for the racers to keep them on their toes, and wil be a very nice addition for the trail.

There are definitely some sandy spots out there.  The lack of rain lately and everyone pre riding has created them.  That being said, it's very racer friendly out there right now.

There will be a few surprises for the race like always. Almost all the sandy spots Will be watered before the race.
