I think the Iphone 4 is the best phone on the trails!  Camera, GPS, Apps....The IPOD!

Opinions please!

My opinion is that you shouldn't use an iPod on the trails :P

Anyway, I'm an android user myself and the only thing I really care about as far as biking related functionality are GPS apps to record my rides (helpful for keeping logs, seeing where improvements can be made, etc), and being able to make an emergency call if something goes wrong. Most of the GPS apps I can find for Android are pretty buggy, and MotionX on the iPhone is definitely pretty solid. Only thing iPhone has against it is AT&T, but I think they have coverage on most of the local trail systems.

I'm evil, and do listen to music while riding, but I make sure I can still here everything else.  Heck, I use to chill out on the picnic table by woods trail, and watch TV on my old Iphone.

Funny, but no signal from AT&T in the parking lots at Boyette or Alafia, but always a signal on the trails.  Plus I love the 15.00 data plan.

That was some interesting feedbacks about the best phones that we can use on trails and everyone seems to be having varied suggestions and the core of the matter is that they all use the GPS to record everything about their rides!! Moreover having your phones give you such a sense of security as it helps you to contact people if there is any emergency!! Any Android phones also seem to be a favorite with the riders!!

My favorite phones are the new windows phones.  I have the HTC Surround, and the WinPhone7 OS is amazing.  Once you spend 5 minutes with it you will understand.  It makes everything faster and simpler.

They are by far the best phone speakers you have will ever hear, but key phrase here is "phone speakers."  They are small speakers and as such one should expect that the 40Hz-100Hz range is lacking.  Though, they do have excellent clarity, and volume.  The slide out speaker, imho is totally worth it.  When wanting to show friends a video or play a song for them, holding the phone awkwardly to direct the sound is not required and you can hear it.  If any have owned an iPhone (I did prior to this) you probably understand what I mean.  With the speakers being on the bottom of the phone, because that makes horrible sense.
