WT-50 (aka The Garry 50)
« on: December 08, 2010, 02:30:06 PM »
Hey Garry -- Are you planning on a WT 50 this year? If so, which day would it be on? I'm hoping it's not 35 degrees and raining this year. Once was enough. Thanks.

I already asked and Garry is working on a date.. it may be After the Croom 50 this year as he is doing San Felesco 50 this year.. I would like to see about making this a legitimate event with the WTA and SWAMP involved.

I always though the WT 50 would be faster than the Croom 50, but each year I finish the Croom 50 about 45 minutes faster than the WT 50. Croom has more elevation change, but WT has a lot more turns, especially the way Garry sets it up. Last year, he had us on a couple of trails I had never even seen before.

Some of the trails he used are closed or older trails no longer in use.. We used a couple for Squiggy also.

How about a non conflicting date with the other 3 50's? SanFelasco, Ididaride and Croom :)

if it is held after the Croom event, it would not conflict with any of these... So, later in February would be good, right?

As I mentioned to Darrin, after the Croom 50 could work.  I'll look at it as we get a little closer, but Late February may work.  YES - not as COLD as last time would be nice!!  Some trail choice modification will be in order, but that's good anyway as it is different then other ones.  Get the map, follow the map, get the miles.  That's all part of the fun of it.  :-)

Sounds like a good time (and good training before Squiggy in March).
