I am thinking this might be a decent trail bike - have any of you had any experience with this bike?

I was looking at the bikes direct bikes but they NEVER have my size - I can get a Scott for a killer deal from a LBS - I am planning on doing a lot of my recovery and longer tempo rides on the dirt this year to break up the boredom of riding the SCT 4 times a week

  • My Bike: is soooooo dirty!!!!
It claims to be the lightest carbon 29er hardtail in the world? I thought the Niner air 9 carbon beat everyone by far? There's a few guys with sub 13 lb carbon 29er bikes.

It looks nice but what about price?

Most bike shops can wheel and deal like a car dealership on last years models and in stock items. I even got my Stumpy 29er hardtail $500 off and I had to special order it. ;)

2011 model and over $500 off = bike shop wants to stay a teir 1 Scott dealer so they are selling a selling a select few at a certain price to increase the number of Scott bikes they sell.

Why is this post titled not wanting a race bike then you post a race bike :o Looks like a great race errrr trail bike I would pull the trigger if the LBS is giving you a deal.

Carbon is VERY durable as a frame material, that is a sweet ride for less than 2G's

Scott is the man when it comes to protecting a carbon frame. Just walk all the rocky parts ;)

I wasn’t aware carbon was a very impact resistant material with all manufactures.. guess it depends on the manufacturing techniques …
