Alrighty ... thanks to everyone for their input. I *think* this is the setup I'll be going with. I'm past the "must have a super quick engagement" thing. Would rather have a solid wheelset that I have the option of tubeless with.

Would everyone agree that this is a good wheelset (quality and price)? The below setup is $479 to my door.

Rear Wheel
1   Hope Pro 2 Disc Rear

   32h Black
3   DT Swiss Spokes Champion Stainless PG
   Black 2mm

the only thing I would change is to the Black Competition Spokes, but they seem to have increased in price since I built my wheels up from them..  Oh, it has been 6 months with over 1000 miles and I have not had to true a wheel yet...

That wheelset will be bomber, you could save a little weight going with the double butted competition versus the single gauge Champion but we are splitting hairs :)
