Fastest main trail times
« on: September 06, 2006, 05:52:41 PM »
Just out of sheer curiousity, whats you average and fastest times for finishing the main loop plus maybe a few extra trails.
Id say my average is around 2:30 including a break, and probably as little as 1:50ish on fast days not including a quick break.

Interesting question.  don't be surprised by some of the results you might find.

I use www.bikejournal.com to save my ride data and I was just looking through my ride log since January 1.

Looks like I mainly ride about 17 miles in 1:20 to 1:30 Ride time. (That doesn't include the 5 to 10 minute breaks at the "Y")

No way to tell what the fastest time is for that distance, distances vary from 14 to 34 miles.  Fastest average speed I had was back in Feb with 12.5+ avg speed, almost 20 miles in 1 hour 29 minutes.

The main loop is 14 miles all the way around if you use Eubank Parkway instead of the 1800 trail on the Flatwoods section.

This would be interesting to hear how others time is.  A lot of variables such as trail conditions, length of stops - if any, all trails, some trails, or only main trail.  The question is "main trails".  I usually can't help myself by riding as many trails as I can tie together, but I would estimate main trail only from one end to the other about an hour to an hour fifteen.

Crazy, my times are right in line with yours.  This is a good question, b/c I just started riding again and joined SWAMP.

I ride mostly Wilderness Park and was wondering what times for the whole loop are.

I usually ride the Main loop all the way around but I go on Bayshore instead.

This past Tuesday evening (Oct 3) our ride time was 1 hour and 33 minutes, we covered 17 plus miles.  We took a very easy pace without stopping at all.  There was a section where we were behind the "C" group for a bit so that might have added a couple minutes to our total time.

Rode there this weekend, I guess we did around 17 miles. Started at the hole in the wall did the main loop and did heartbreak ridge, Indian and the rest of the main trail(awesome FL downhill, just let it flow). Either way, ended up with 1:30 even.

Hit a new personal high for me tonight. 15 miles 12.9mph avg!  I had a rabbit on my tail for about a mile, I think he was mad because I zipped by his friends.  But like I said it was only a mile.  I feel great, I owe it all to the new wheels and tires(kenda karama LR3 Stick-e 2.0).  Only 480 grams a piece!!

I think they have a clydesdale forum on MTBR. I'd post that question there.
