O Hundo
« on: March 21, 2011, 08:12:23 AM »
Most of you know I've been hyping-up doing my first dirty hundred by my birthday.  Well, it is almost here and I figured I would extend the invitation for y'all to join me.  It will be a self-supported ride from/to my house and will cover most of the city of Gainesville.  I will have actual bike-computer mileage in the coming weeks, but it is 98 gps miles as of right now.  You will see singletrack, 2 track, neighborhoods, rail trail, parks, schools to include a ride through the University of Florida, and some urban singletrack and bike paths.  There are two scheduling refuel stops at convenience stores (how convenient) and the ride should take ~10 hours.  The departure time is sharp, I know some people don't have lights and I have a 2 hour buffer for mechanicals and stops before it gets dark.  We need to leave at 8.

Date: May 14th

Time: 0800 leaving!

For those who commit to dropping hammers, I will PM my address, directions, and .GPX file.  I would prefer everyone to stay with me, as I am not going to provide a cue sheet for the route.  Maybe in the future, but I don't have the time right now to make one.  My average pace will be 9-10 mph.

Cool looking race, but this one doesn't cost $75.

Exactly.  $75 is a lot of dough for an event.

I want to be there. But with the clock ticking on the divide I have put a permanent hold on anything that I can't be done doing before 12pm on a Saturday. I only have a couple weekends left and then I wont see them for almost a month.

But awesome work on the ride should be spectacular
