I have heard some riders discussing lately that like myself, they are not well educated in the black art of gps navigation. With the cfitt coming up in a few months, along with the recent popularity in creating urban rides, and suburban rides, and mtbrs hitting the roads of San Antonio, I have invited Karlos to the west coast for a day of training in all things navigation.
He is the route design master, and has shared many of his well planned rides with us in the past including the Dirty Dan-o 100, Naked Indian ride, Renegade, Cfitt, Huracan , and many others. To design, plan,or ride these types of adventurous routes, you need to have a strong working knowledge of the hardware and software involved.
I can host this training session at my home in Land O Lakes which is located in the middle of ideal areas for putting together an off road adventure of this type. Located within 10 miles are the Starkey preserve, Cypress creek preserve, and Conner preserve. Well over 10,000 acres of double track, single, track, game trails, atv trails, and dreaded technical fire breaks. So after putting in some time with the gadgets, we can ride the routes we create.
Karlos would like to do this before he has to report back to work after his vacation. That gives us a short notice date of this weekend, or we can see if he can do the next weekend. Beers and BBQ on  the porch after.

We have rescheduled this for this Saturday at around 5:00.  Anyone that has questions regarding the CFITT are invited to attend as well. There will be an awesome , animal filled night ride in the preserves after, bring your lights.
